2012 NHL Draft - Sabres Edition!!! Activity Sounds like two pretty good players.Is everyone excited!!! Sabres can't get enough centers. Zemgus Girgensons. Wow. Grigorenko. Pittsburgh gets a 1st round pick and Brandon Sutter. Jordan Staal gets to play with his brother. There will definitely be a top forward available for the Sabres at 12. Very glad that Toronto took a defenseman and not a forward. Need a forward to drop to Buffalo at 12. Unless Darcy trades up, which he should do. Hoping for either Grigorenko, Gaunce, Faksa and Girgensons. All ready for the draft. Sabres need to go big in my opinion. Zemgus Girgensons is also a guy I would definitely want the Sabres to take a look at. http://www.tsn.ca/draftcentre/feature/?id=9832 According to Paul Hamilton, the Sabres would be willing to take Grigorenko if he was available at the 12th pick. I am ready for the draft tomorrow. Plus, Kevin Devine said that the team isn't thinking about what they are going to do in the 2nd round. Focusing strictly on the 1st 2 picks. Gotta get in shape. Darcy Regier has spoke as if the team will either trade up in the draft or trade for an established player. Personally, I would like them to trade up in the draft. The draft seems to be deep in 2nd pairing defensemen, but that is not a position that the Sabres need. Nail Yakupov is expected to be the number 1 pick in this years draft, but I do not see the Sabres having any chance at getting him. The Sabres have the 12th and 21st picks coming up in the draft this year. The Sabres need forwards who can score, and after the top talent, it is a very weak draft for that.
